Background
TAFE College has been a long established provider of technical education in Malaysia. Originally set up in 1972 as Negeri Institute of Technology, the College was absorbed by MIED (Maju Institute of Educational Development) in 1988. With the strong support of MIED and with the vision of MIED Chairman, Dato’ Seri S Samy Vellu, the new campus was set up in 1990 on a 10 acre site in Seremban. Located 45 minutes away from KLIA and Kuala Lumpur, the multimillion dollar campus offers a stimulating and inspiring study environment.

The College offers a strong foundation and firm guidance. TAFE College is the first technical higher educational institution to be awarded the ISO 9001:2000 standard and UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Services) certification.
TAFE College has been a member of MAPCU (Malaysian Association of Private Colleges and Universities) since 1998. TAFE is also a member of NAPEI (National Association of Private Educational Institutions since March 2007.

There is an elaborate system of quality assurance requiring exam boards, external examiners, peer evaluation, etc. as per the requirements of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). MQA standards consist of qualifications, programmes and higher education providers, based on a set of criteria and standards, including learning outcomes achieved, created based on student learning load. The education is student-centred and career-focused.
